Why do I love Kenilworth Youth For Christ?
My journey with Youth for Christ actually started when I was 14 yrs old, a group from National Youth For Christ that were going round different churches doing some sort of drama piece came to my church and it was at that event that I realised that all the stuff I had heard about this Jesus guy all my life actually applied to me, Jesus died for me. I spent my formative teenage years hanging out at the Coventry Youth for Christ venue, The Pulse, and then when I reached 18 years old I took a gap year working for Greenwich Youth for Christ on the National Youth for Christ programme, Operation Gideon, experiencing a huge amount of inspiring and amazing training in Christian Youth work. God placed in me, at that point, a love of young people and wanting to share my faith with them.
I still love young people and still want to see their lives changed by Jesus in the same way that mine was. So having been a part of the Youth for Christ family for so many years being able to be a part of Kenilworth Youth for Christ now feels like being part of a family that are all on mission together, all with the same aim – to share Jesus relevantly with every young person so that they can come to know him too.
